  1. These sketches are really very good. What fun to still have them. Incidentally – I was also on the Bristol-Bordeaux exchange. It was the summer of Manfred Mann’s “Hey Diddy Do” so 1964. I returned loaded with peaches and an extremely stinky camembert.

    1. What a coincidence! We might have been on the same flights… I went to the same family in Agen for the three years 1964/6, the last time which coincided with the Aberfan disaster. I’m pleased you liked the sketches: I’d have liked to have taken Art at O- and possibly A-Level but my father more or less insisted I did Latin.
