I love Dore Abbey — it‘s such a spiritual place.

It is. And it’s a lovely space to sing in too, as I’ve done with a choir a few times (including twice in the last fortnight) — Josquin des Prez, Tallis, Gibbon, Byrd and others.

Oh, wonderful — you were so lucky!
I‘ve only visited once, but brought home lovely memories (and way too many photos) … and a hand-crafted red mug made by a potter exhibiting her things, which will always remind me of my visit and the conversation we had.
Did I ever ask what singing voice you are?

Strictly speaking I’m a baritone though I swap from tenor to first bass as required—and occasionally even alto!
